Guess not only humans are homo!

My work takes me places. Some which ad never thought i ad be.This weeknd i had the privilage of working with BBC crew.(I wanna be them wen i get older) in south malindi,Gede location. At the end of the assignment the crew hapend to pick up a story of a hen that turned cock 6 months ago.At first no one believed the old woman who narrated the incident. We had to follow her to the said home to see for ourselves.

And there it was. From the look of it the hen-cock as we called it,had the physic of a hen however It had a cocks mane or is it called the crown.

The owner says the hen-cock was purely female. it  even given raised chicks which were later wiped out by seasonal diseases.Six months ago something happend and the hen started showing male characteristics including chasing down other hens to mate just as a normal cock would do.T

Residents believe its a sign of blessings and the owner has vowed to to make a meal out of it.Here are some pics of the hen-cock.
see the crown? homo!

The docks by night.

Someone once told  me not to take pics of the ferry.Apparently i could get arrested .Dont know how true that is,but the minute i saw this breath taking sight ,i cud not help myself!

If this aint beauty, i dont know what is.Am new in Mombasa and am still discovering this coastal town.I live on the mainland and work on the island and the ferry is my transport across the docks to and fro.At dusk, the ferrys are less crowded and the sea is calm. The evening lights from the ferrys and the island shine upon the sea giving it a simmering glowing effect.A scene so real I am yet to see anythn as breath taking as this.More pics coming soon.
